Oral Presentations

  • You will have a total of 10 minutes for your presentation followed by a 5 minutes question and answer period. Time limits will be strictly enforced.
  • You are asked to prepare a PPT slide with max. 15 slides (not including title). Slide size: 4:3 Landscape Orientation Optional PowerPoint Template.
  • At the end of the session, a keynote speaker (discussant) will provide a brief summary of the work that has been presented, commenting on the strengths and weaknesses and placing it in the context of other research/knowledge in the relevant area.
  • Please be in the room at least 10 minutes before the start time of the session. The session chairs will start and end strictly on time.
  • Presenters may use their own PPT template or download the IASLC PPT template for their presentation.
  • You must submit your PPT slides by August 5, 2016, presentations must be saved with your abstract number and name. Ex. Abstract 20 – Jane Smith Submit your presentations here.

Poster Presentations

      On Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27 a different set of posters will be displayed.

    • Poster Session 1: Friday, August 26
    • Poster Session 2: Saturday, August 27
    • Location: Exhibit Hall (Panama 3 & 4), Riu Plaza Panama
    • Poster Setup Time: 09:00 – 10:30 on day of your Poster Session
    • Poster Take Down Time: 16:30 – 18:00 on day of your Poster Session (posters not taken down after 19:00 will be discarded by management)
    • Presenting Author Stand By Time*: During morning and afternoon Coffee Break on day of your Poster Session

*Time in which Poster Presenter remains at his Poster Board and is available to discuss their research personally with any interested delegate.

Maximum Poster Size: 2m high x 1m wide – portrait format

  • Poster Boards will be aluminum. Tape will be provided. LALCA 2016 example poster boards.
  • Keep illustrations and text simple, remember that one must be able to read from a distance.
  • Prepare your poster thoughtfully, remember that more than 50 posters will be presented at the same time – make your poster interesting!
  • Please prepare your poster in English to allow our international delegates to review it as well.
  • Poster Board numbers will be provided in your final confirmation email.

Posters Highlighted In Poster Discussion Session

  • Top rated posters will be highlighted in the Poster Discussion Session on Saturday, August 27, 08:00 – 09:15.
  • Poster Discussion Presenters will prepare both a physical poster for display in the exhibit hall and a PowerPoint presentation.
  • You must submit your PPT slides by August 5, 2016, presentations must be saved with your abstract number and name. Ex. Abstract 20 – Jane Smith Submit your presentations here.
  • You will present your poster in a session room for 5 minutes. After a series of three poster discussion presentations you will partake in a 5 minute Q & A, followed by a panel discussion for 15 minutes.

Submission Guidelines

    • Abstracts must be submitted electronically through the Conference website
    • Abstracts will be accepted in English only
    • Abstracts should not exceed 500 words in length (authors and abstract title do not count towards word limit, the word limit applies to the abstract body only)
    • Abstract title should not exceed 125 characters
    • Tables may be included and each will count as 75 words
    • A maximum of 2 images may be included, each will count as 75 words
    • The abstract must be structured as follows. Each section must be completed. If one section is not applicable, please put ‘not applicable’ in the text box
      • Background
      • Methods
      • Results
      • Conclusion
    • The following information is mandatory for each co-author. Information highlighted in bold is only mandatory for presenting and submitting authors.

    • The author indicated as the presenting author must be registered for the meeting. The presenting author is also the main contact person and will receive all correspondence such as notification of acceptance, presentation details and guidelines, etc. It is the presenting author’s responsibility to provide this information to his co-authors.
    • There is no limit to the number of co-authors per abstract
    • There is no fee for submitting an abstract
    • There is no limit to the number of abstracts you may submit (however, an individual may not be offered more than 2 oral presentations)
    • An international panel of reviewers will review all abstracts anonymously
    • All abstracts accepted by the Scientific Committee may be published in the Journal of Thoracic Oncology and on the Conference website prior to the meeting. It is mandatory to agree to this at the time of submission

The Conference will accept abstracts on Clinical Trials in Progress. Please submit your abstract under the most appropriate submission category. If you are not able to complete each section (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion), please enter ‘not applicable’ in this section.
